Problem with BG 4000

Hello and good afternoon. Sometimes I have a problem with a BG 4000. The start is ok the tone arm go down, but stay every time in the same position, the record turn but the arm no move. Go up/down is Ok the FF and RW is ok, can someone help me ? Thank you

You are reporting that the tangential tracking is not working. The lamp for that sensor could be burned out or the adjustment of the aperture for the sensor could be way out of adjustment. Those are just a couple of possibilities. If this is a Beogram 4000 that is still original and never been through a restoration service then it is due. If you remove the platter (and belt) the tonearm should lower where you can observe the tracking sensor housing and see if the light is working. If the light is working you can manually nudge the arm left or right and the tangential arm motor should advance (or retreat) the tangential arm assembly. If it doesn't then you will probably need to re-adjust the tracking sensor aperture.
