Hi,

I found instructions on this forum how to disable the doors on a 3200:
Shift 90369 (list/shift with Beo 4 remote)

I tried this on my 2300, but no result. Doors still opening.

Question: is this possble on an old 2300 (type 2616)? Or is the only option to disconnect the IR sensor completely?

Why would I want to turn off this wonderful feature?

- mechanism is worn, doors aren´t always closing.
-  Every time I get near it, the doors open. (Wall-mounted in the kitchen).
- Don´t use the CD. Only radio + Chromecast.
- Everything can be done via the remote.

No sadly that code doesn't work on a BC2300.

Rather than disconnecting the IR door sensors, perhaps you could put little bits of tape over them?  If you prise off the black plastic covers you should see the sensors.

Have a look at this thread: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/1118/9379.aspx#9379

... it's actually for a 2500 but the door sensors (and transmitters) may well be in similar locations.  Either cover the IR transmitters or sensors or both/all - experiment to see what stops the doors opening.  Check before re-assembly that you have not covered the remote sensor (but if it is a 2 way model the remote sensor will be below the doors anyway.)

(EDITED after initial post)

EDIT 2:  Type 2616 is a two-way version, hence the remote sensor will be out of the way bottom left of the unit below the doors Smile

Thanks for confirming that the code to disable doors is a dead end on these older systems.

Some tape did the trick as you suggested.
By partially covering the sensors I found a way to reduce the senistivity. Now the doors only open when I wave my hand very close to the doors, Better than completely disabling :-).
Took some testing to find the ideal sensitvity, as it is changing when you put the plastic covers and the doors back. But well spent time.

Great news. I am glad that it worked and that it’s a easily reversible solution!
