I've been in the beginning at this forum. I've really had many new friends and many fun moments. Like when we visited Bang & Olufsen in Struer and met the member of this forum etc....But unfortunately after the years it has become like any other forum. Accusations, violations, etc. I feel that I am ready with this. I'm not getting any more out of this. Sad but true. No one will miss me but I'm absolutely sure that Beoworld is the beginning to the end. My two cents. Good luck Lee! I'll be missing all the good guysIndifferent.

Really? Culture and difference of opinion I suspect are really at the heart of this. Every person here is a good guy in my opinion, I wasn't aware I was joining some kind of private club or cult when I found the forum. It seemed friendly, helpful and everybody was welcome. If your not getting out of what you want that is not the fault of the forum. In the same way you suggest in another thread that products have evolved from the 90s, it seems the forum has to. Will you evolve with it and stay part of the community or part company? All the best whatever you decide, Simon.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Interesting that the OP decides to get his nose out of joint over a tempest in a tea pot that started with him snidely chastising another poster for daring to write an opinion about a speaker and TV that he didn't approve of. Oh the irony.

Dear mr_anders_son,

sometimes people can really make your day, your week or even your life very unpleasant and you feel like being tired of them. With some of them you can easily live in harmony again, with others it's difficult and with an extremely small quantity of people it seems impossible. That's life and you and us have to deal with it in every day life. You currently seem to have enough of the forum life.

But was this forum really so bad that you want to leave us? Think about it... how much help and support you gained from and contributed to this forum, how lovely your Struer trip was and how this forums helps to keep up the love for Bang & Olufsen, even if they seem to have lost the track.

Yes, we sometimes don't share the same opinions, have different point of views etc. but that's a good thing as it helps to grow and keeps discussing, joking, helping, arguing and sharing on the forum alive. Of course all of this has to be done with respect to each other.

So, mr_anders_son, think twice before leaving. Every member leaving this forum is a miss for all of us in many terms.

Extremely well put TWG. I recall I said I would never visit the site again a few years ago when some idiot (can't remember who it was) was throwing insults in my direction. But at the end of the day, the positives far outweigh the negatives, just like any good relationship, as no relationship is perfect.... You are spot on when you say it's all about respect.

Have a break mr_anders_son - don't visit the site for a few weeks or months and maybe you'll then be ready to contribute again.

Cheers

Nigel

Same here Nigel !

On some other forums, there's a button (often called "Plonk") to ignore specific members.

I miss this functionality sometimes...

That is a shame - not been on the forum so much recently and didn't see the relevant thread. I would ask you to reconsider - have a break by all means, I have sometimes - but the vast majority of us are friendly and a good range of opinions is what makes this a valuable site, both for us and B&O.

Anders, I for certain would miss you if you went forever. Sad

I think there are some true "believers" in the company, the brand - and the future of B&O. They don't like people saying negative things, and it's almost personal when people do.

I know Anders' English is utterly faultless, so I doubt anything has been misconstrued or lost in translation. I can only assume the negativity has got to him, to the point he doesn't want to read it any more.

I think Millemissen is possibly in the same situation, and he's happy to stay and argue the positives. I respect that.

Personally, after losing the business I've worked so hard for over the last 12 years thanks to the brand spiralling down a well I should be a lot more negative than I am - but hey, you move on. I too thought a 'rest' from BeoWorld would be the thing to do - but despite me having little interest in the brand at the moment I still come on here to help people, discuss from as neutral a standpoint as I can muster, and obviously moderate.

Sometimes a break is needed, so let's not say goodbye for keeps mr_anders_son. Keep an eye on us, and we'll see you when you feel like coming back.

Technically/sonically/audio-reproducer wise, B&O HAS NEVER been more at the top of both their game and technology.

I respectfully suggest now is NOT the time to jump ship.

However now IS the right time to remind Bang & Olufsen of their need to stay committed to quality.

And to own all the inefficiencies and indulgences they allowed themselves when success was mislead them into thinking their was no reason to internally challenge themselves about the need to change.

Brand-only showrooms with uninviting staff? BaH!

Instructional guides so obscure as to require YEARS of ownership before the boiled down instruction's intent became graspable. BAH!

Taking far far too long to get new products to market. BAH!

I'm a fan. I luv B&O, and stay with them to the very end, which I hope is not too soon.

But they better start listening to their customers and not to market professionals. They know NOTHING!!

Respectfully and with much luv,

Barry

I've been there and got very upset and p****d off with a couple of people here going back years but I have to remind myself that it's easy to get angry and misconstrue others motives over a faceless interaction. We can all get passionate or irritated but perhaps this is just a barometer of our love for the brand in the face of adversity and annoyance at B&O management decisions. Give yourself a break from the brand and the forum and come back with a fresh heart.

We need all the members we can muster and all the varied opinions to make it supportive and a rich place to be!

Agree with all that - have also found the offending thread and as usual the problem is 'humour' - all nationalities have very different senses of humour and this is very apparent in this thread. The British tend to a sense of the ridiculous and self deprecation and this can come across very badly. In fact almost every dispute we have had on Beoworld has usually involved what is meant as humorous teasing, which is invariably meant in a friendly way but can appear very insulting. I apologise for any hurt caused and would urge anyone distressed by posts on this site to contact the moderating team.

Personally, I've always quite appreciated and gotten the UK sense of humor. The best example of Swedish humor I can think of is Ikea assembly instructions, at least I hope it's a sense of humor and not intrinsic sadism.

LOL Jeff! You're naughty but funny! Yes I remember trying to build Ikea products over the years and not finding the instructions quite as straightforward as one might imagine! I was lucky if even all the parts were provided! I am not an Ikea person although I acknowledge how successful the brand is, and of course they own Habitat and so many other sub brands too.

Sad to see you go, Anders - but I do understand what you are saying. On top of that, products are replaced at such a rate these days that the old forums "expertise" is no longer needed (that often, anyway) - and it became just another forum, as you stated... with the usual bunch of spammers with a high number of posts but not bringing much to the scene.

I am following you on Instagram - a great account I can highly recommend following.

Lycka till, Anders
