hi,

all of a sudden the screen went black on our Beocenter 6-23. However, sound is still there and you see the OSD and Beocenter menu  also tried switching to another STB which gave the same result. Also tried connecting via the DVI (STB is on scart) but did not get a picture  disconnecting from the mains for 30 min did not help either

Thus:

- the LCD screen is still working

- the STB is still working

- all other functions, radio etc. Is working

it is the main (and only) TV in a masterlink setup. Besides masterlink, it has an STB in one scart and an Airport Express to another scart (L-R audio is connected to a scart adapter and activated by DVD). Have not had any issues with the set prior to this.

anyone had a similar problem - is it a module change that is the only option?

appreciate any help!

Have you tried:

- Resetting the V.OPT to 1 (or 2)?

- Disconnecting Masterlink?

- Both of the above together?

Otherwise it's quite strange - my first thought was P.MUTE but that cancels when you press menu.

Thanks for the tip but unfortunately it did not help. Tried switching between V.OPT 1 and 2, both with and without masterlink. Also tried disconnecting from mains again from mains again with no luck. Any other ideas?

You could try going into service mode.  With the setup menu showing, press 00 GO.  Have a look at any fault codes, and consider doing a 'reset to default' settings.  Make sure that you note any current settings first. (Take photo of the screen, perhaps).

I can't think of anything else to try!

Hi again,

went into service mode and actually saw the following fault codes for the TV:

0817 22-2D

0817 22-2D

0612 22-2D

0612 22-2D

Looking in the service manual, the first 4 digits are month and year. Does it then mean that the TV had the error also 5 years ago (maybe I could ask the prev owner then)?

Unfortunately, the error code is not listed among the codes in the manual so no help there. Found an old thread on the archived forum (which I could read if I asked Google to translate it) where it was stated that if a code was missing it meant that there was a module change required (or loose connection).

https://translate.google.se/translate?hl=sv&sl=en&u=http://archivedarchivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/33031.aspx&prev=search

Have not tried the "restore defaults". Before I do that, which settings should I take a photo off (every single screen?)

Thanks for the help so far!

The fault codes actually state month/date hence happened on 12 June and 17 Aug.  From my limited interpretation of the manual, you have an IIC bus error which basically means an internal communication failure.  This could be either a component failure or a loose connection.  If it worked between 12 June and 17 Aug this suggests the latter!

However, I would try the 'restore defaults' option before thinking about dismantling the TV to look for loose wires.

Looking in the manual, a reset to default should just restore the TV to its 'as new' condition, hence on restart V.OPT Setting is set to 2, TV/Radio stations are cleared, input sockets set to 'NONE' and the user adjustable picture settings are set to default.  Hence as long as you are content to re-do all these settings then go ahead with a reset.

Ok, that's good news that it seems to have corrected itself already one time. I will try the tedet tonight.

Yes very strange but I am glad that it worked.  Fingers crossed that it stays that way!
