Good evening to you all,
I'm looking after used Beovision avant (28, 32 CRT). But after reading the manual i'm stuck with a question.
It is said that:
AV and aerial socket panel

V. TAPE 21-pin socket for the connection of a BeoCord V 8000 video tape recorder.
AV 21-pin socket for the AV connection of other equipment, e.g. a set-top box or a second decoder (neither MAC nor baseband decoders may be connected here).
DECODER 21-pin socket for the connection of a secondary set-top box or a primary decoder. The socket provides the opportunity to connect either an AV decoder or an RF decoder.
My question is, does those sockets only accept those devices or am I free to connect whatever Scart stuff I want? The idea is to connect a internet tv box in one scart and a Mac Mini to another one via a scart adapter.
I mean, today i have an old Phillips CRT TV with only one scart and it's accepting whatever signal I feed to it, DVD player, Mac via adapter, box, whatever… I dont want to buy this bulky thing to learn that i still need to manually swap connectors at the back of the set because the AV plug is the only who accept all signal.
Another thing: I understand that declaring the sources in the TV menu is just to "link" an actual device with the correct labeled button on the bed 4. Like DVD for the DVD and V.tape if you have a VCR instead. Am I right?
(Of course i dont mind having to press DVD for the Mac Mini and V.Tape for my box or V.tape 2 for whatever other equipment as long as i get picture and sound from the source.)
Hope I question is understandable and thank you for your help.
M.

You can pretty much connect whatever you want wherever. Sometimes B&O peripherals need to be connected to certain inputs, but the boxes you mention should work with any SCART input. From memory, there may be one input that doesn't accept RGB.

Yes! But some SCART inputs may only have a limited number of 'buttons' that it can be selected with. Again, it will be fine for your needs.
Multumesc or Merci, Guy !
I like those kind of answer, the ones i was wishing to !
Cheers.
