Please be patient, I'm new to B&O.
I recently bought an MX6000 TV with Beo4 remote. I also have a DVD1, and a decoder.
Now then! I have the decoder plugged into SCART1 and DVD plugged into SCART2.
The decoder and DVD both work but I'm having difficulty negotiating between them using the remote. It does not have a specific DVD button like some later models.
I understand that I can programme it to recognise the DVD, indeed, some functions of the DVD do work using the remote.
I'll stop rambling.
My question is this: Is there a preferable SCART to use for the decoder and DVD or does it not make any difference really?
You'll be pleased to learn I have downloaded the Beo4 Guide PDF which will no doubt be of great assistance.
Hi and welcome to Beoworld,
You have the Decoder and DVD in the correct sockets (1 and 2 respectively), but you need to go to MENU, SETUP, SOCKETS to let the TV know what is attached to each so that you can select them with the remote.
Also, when you programme the TV channels, you need to set Decoder to 'ON' whilst on the tuning screen, in order that it is selected when using the TV.
And I should have said that DVD can be selected using SHIFT then CD on older remotes*. SHIFT can be added to the LIST button as you should see in the instructions that you have downloaded.
(* EDIT: May actually be SHIFT then SAT - not sure!)
I just edited my answer because I didn't read your reply properly, that's great help thank you Guy. Will report back.
Currently:
TV button: Analog TV - white noise
V TAPE button - SCART1 with decoder plugged in - works fine with decoder remote
A TAPE, CD, SAT, AV - nothing happens when pressed
With STANDBY and LIST pressed I get: CONFIG? ADD? REMOVE? OPTION?
I added SHIFT to the LIST but SHIFT > CD or SAT I draw a blank.
I feel like I'm missing something obvious like maybe I haven't programmed the SOCKETS properly
I did some more searching on the forum and it appears that I have misled you slightly - sorry!
According to this thread, you actually need to add the 'CDV' function to the LIST. The CDV IR codes are the same as DVD.

I hope that it works this time!
That's very kind of you, something I should have done myself!
This certainly looks very promising, will have a crack at this method tonight and report back.
Once again, thank you.
Success!
I added CDV to the LIST. Then went to SOCKETS and told socket2 that it was CDV. It now works a treat, thank you.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to turn on the DVD subtitles. Bit deaf!
Press the green button for subtitle options. Sorted!
Great news - thanks for letting us know
