I’ve been playing around with a new piece of AV equipment for the past few months and wanted to pass on my opinions to you guys.

The NAD M50.2 is a DAC-less streamer that streams from a variety of hi-res sources such as Tidal Hi res, Quobuz, Deezer, etc. but also locally stored files. I’ve been ripping every CD in my collection as FLACs, and storing them on the M50.2. Oh, it also does the first unfold of MQAs to 24/96.

bottom line, great streamer. I usually use it hooked up to my DAC which then goes to a preamp then to the BL5s via SE outputs. Sound is spectacular.  But wait!  There’s more!  The M50.2 has digital coax out, which I’ve also been using on my BL5s.  Unlike the Beosound Core, the software is solid. It runs BluOS, so it has nice iOS apps and a windows app.

I prefer using my preamp to the BL since I like using that volume control, but I could see myself ditching the preamp at some point and just using the Beo4 remote. It has optical in, so I could conceivably route my TV audio through the M50.2 as well. I’m all for sticking with a B&O end to end system, but I really recommend that people with BL5s and a desire for hifi streaming to take a look at this thing.
