Dear all!

I'm considering getting an BV 7-55 - maybe as an second Life product. That's why I want to ask if there is a significant difference between the two Mk versions concerning picture quality that would justify the price?

Best Regards

I'm no BV7-55 expert - there are many other users on here who can give you better feedback - but the whole backlighting got a major revamp between the BV7-55 MKI and MKII. The MKII has local backlighting, exclusive to this TV, which gives a far even picture, with better blacks, no clouding, unlike side lit LCD panels, such as the BV7-40, BV11 and BV7-55 MKI. The MKII is generally regarded as having the best picture in the B&O range.

Hi,

I have BV 7-55 mark II today. I have also had the BV 7-55 mark I. Picturewise: Both Mark 1 and Mark 2 has Direct Type LED (not EDGE-led) with local dimming and Scanning backlight (see below).

The real differences is as follows:

Mark I:

Direct type LED with Local dimming and Scanning backlight with 96 different dimming zones. No 3D. The inbuilt Bluray-player is a bit slow to load Bluray and the Bluray player don´t support DTS Master Audio-format. The Tv has a projector out: DVI (no HDMI)

Mark II:

Direct type LED with Local dimming and Scanning backlight with 512 different dimming zones. Can handle 3D, but there is some crosstalk and other issues with the 3D-mode. 2D is very good and I think it is the best 2D-picture in of all B&O-TV:s today. The inbuilt Bluray-player is much faster than the old one (in Mark 1), and it supports and handle both Dolby True HD and DTS-Masteraudio. The Tv has a projector out: HDMI (with 3D-support).

This is the major differences between Mark 1 and Mark 2. Both TV:s has Beosystem 3 as a Video-engine.

Martin Strom

Thanks to all for your quick and detailed answers; so the Mk II would be the better decision.

Best regards Elmar

Hello everyone,

Very helpful analysis between BV 7-55 Mk I and Mk II.

Please let me know the TYPE of BV 7-55 Mk I and the TYPE of BV7-55 Mk II.

Is the Mk II the latest or there is a Mk III as well ? If yes what the TYPE ?

Thank you.

Spiros.
