Do you guys know if there is a way to reset/restore BeoCom 3 phone to its factory defaults? Googling or searching manual didn't turn up anything.

Thanks!

You don't see many of these ISDN phones in Europe and as far as I am aware there is no "Reset to Factory Defaults" facility.

What problem are you attempting to resolve?

Thank you, sir. That explains why I am having hard time finding this info online. :) The issue I am having with a couple of these phones is that there is some sort of background monotone noise interfering with the dialtone. If I touch around the base, it temporarily goes away, but the as soon as someone starts talking or I dial another number it comes back. I thought maybe factory reset could take care of it. Also, the phone has a bunch of entries in the address book that I thought a reset could wipe out instead of me deleting each item one by one.

I think your problem is to do with the line Interface. The Beocom 3's were designed to use Line interface Euro ISDN 2

There are different possible types of interface and my feeling is that you have a mismatch here. Basic Rate Interface ISDN or BRI-ISDN is very popular in Europe, but is much less common in North America. In the US Primary Rate Interface or PRI-ISDN would normally be implemented.

In the UK ISDN is being phased out and will be completely switched off by BT (British Telecom) because in today's world of ADSL it has become a redundant product.

As you are in the US West Coast are you sure about the type of line interface you are using?

Also, has this phone ever worked on the ISDN line you are using? Has the Beocom 3 been purchased as a pre-owned product and if so was it purchased from outside the US?

Regards Keith....

I've purchased these two BeoCom 3 phones on eBay here in US. I have a couple ones around the house, but they seem to work fine (at least the background tone is not that noticeable). Don't know anything about the ISDN really. I have them plugged in into OOMA VoiceIP device via Leviton distribution board. If I understood correctly, there should be a US and a EU version of BeoCom 3? Anyway to check which one I have?
