Is it possible to get a beocenter 6 unlocked? I have seen a tv on eBay and interested in purchasing. However it does not have password.

hmmm Unsure if password was set, it could be reset, saying that I'm more stacked in past and most equipment require hard push rather than password, just to make sure what password are you talking about for wi-fi or the menu is locked? best be to into manual - I haven't got that 1 (I'm up to beocenter 2) - I'm sure any B&O specialized dealership (with workshop) be able to re-set / unlock or and some other guys in here know more about the new stuff

all the best

There - from manual:

Use your pincode
If your television has been disconnected from
the mains for 15–30 minutes, the television
prompts you for the pincode when you
switch it on. You may not be able to switch
the television on immediately – wait
approximately 30 seconds and try again.
IMPORTANT! If you are prompted for a pincode
the first time you switch on your television,
contact your Bang & Olufsen retailer.
When your television is switched on …
> Enter the code digits using the number buttons
or .
> Press GO when the last digit is entered.
> Your television starts up again.
Five incorrect entries will cause the television to
shut down for three hours, during which
operation is not possible.
If you have forgotten your pincode …
> Contact a Bang & Olufsen retailer to receive a
five-digit mastercode.
> When the television prompts you for your
pincode, press and hold to bring up the
MASTERCODE menu.
> Entering the code digits using the number
buttons or and pressing GO will deactivate
your pincode and reactivate your television.
To use the pincode system again …
> Follow the procedure for activating the pincode
system.

Hi Chris,

Some B&O stores are happy to give you the original PIN. Problem occurs if the original owner then changed the PIN for a number that suited him. Then a master code is needed from Denmark, very unlikely you will get this for obvious reasons.

Maybe I am just not very trusting, but that sounds dodgy to me, and personally I wouldn't go near it.

If the seller had a legitimate reason for not having a pin, they would go to b and o themselves.  The fact that they are prepared to take a hit on price and make it the buyers problem is strange, and I would think/hope you would have real problems getting a code for it without proof of purchase.

No problem there it figures it was Beovision and as other guys, especially Rednik said - it sound dodgy and as an buyer you shouldn't have to deal with that,it's seller's responsibility, despite facts such many things in live are dodgy - whom just might turn out not to be legitimate owner after all... Surprise
