hi everyone,
i am looking for a 220 or 240 mains transformer for a BG8000/8002
Should you have a spare one please let me know
cheers
ALF
It's important to know if you need a 50Hz or 60Hz transformer. They are not identical.

Fair point Martin,
as far as I am aware the 220 and 240 V transformers were only available in 50Hz ?!
anyhow, 50Hz is required !

Correct per default.I have seen one or two that were modified.
The difference from 50Hz to 60Hz is just a single capacitor but it's a special type and quite essential, so if you have a workingtransformer with correct voltage but with wrong frequency, "all" you need is the correct capacitor.
The problem is my Beogram 8002, which is a US model, housing a Type 5613 transformer version.
I can not just use a step-down transformer to ran it with 120V / 50HZ. âšī¸
So, I would have to change C1 in the transformer box to a 39uF 55V capacitor, if that is what you are referring to ?!
Just tested the bipolar cap in the transformer box which should have been about 27uF..........but it actually tested 38.6uF.....meaning way out of spec for the US version but just fine for the 220/240V version......works fine with my step-down transformer đđđ¤
but the hunt for a 220/240v version is still on - so if you happen to have a spare send me a PM
thank you
