Last week B&O technicians installed my new Beovision Eclipse MkII.
After the weekend spent "together" there're few first observations just to share.
Yes it looks gorgeous and with light oak soundbar cover it perfectly fits in the space, Yes the sound is amazing, Yes motorized stand is totally unique proposition, Yes integration with the rest of home AV setup is great, Yes the picture is superb.....
but ....
Does the screen really have to arrive in "regular" LG box just to remind you that you've paid 6times more for the same screen? Can't WebOS be customized more so it's more B&O than LG? Why the hell has curtain effect while switching off the set disappeared? I just hate that red light just a millimeter above soundbar cover when the unit is off.
Yes we'll be able to live together, but so far I miss my beloved Beovision 11 a lot (perfect form factor, bespoke OS, etc ....) regardless of the fact that it was "only" HD, only LED and unfortunately - as a dealbreaker - without DVB/T2 HEVC.
Just my 2 cents
You're not allowed to dis' it!
Ban boring signatures!
Red light from tv can be turned off in the LG menu.

If you paid ‘6times more for the same screen’, the dealer earned a lot of money on you ;-)
I am wondering why you bought the BV Eclipse 2nd gen!
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
LG GX 55 costs appx. 2k EUR/ Eclipse is priced at appx. 9k - so OK 4.5x more to be precise (but then I wouldn't have the soundbar you're right here and my post wasn't about $$$ at all).
My post was about last 48hours user experience when trying to be unbiased by longterm love for B&O brand.
Why I bought it - more or less that first part of my original post.
What I don't like aren't the dealbreakers - just the comments where I'd see the space for improvement.
thx for that - will work on it immediately

Having bought it I would've thought his opinion was well worth listening too rather than the usual naysaying!
@Marek - Can I ask, when you bought this was it explained to you that what you were buying was a standard LG TV with a separate B&O Soundcentre/stand or did you believe the TV to have some B&O influence?
It was very well explained - so I knew what I'm buying and I'm very happy with the set.
I just wanted to share few observations which made me scratch my head a little as I wouldn't have expected those.
Can I ask if there is a cutout on the sound centre to fit the GX, or the GX simply sit on top?
BL8000, BL10, BL4000, BL2, BL3 (Sold), Beocentre 2 (Sold), Beosystem 3, LG C8
Look at the photos in this past week's BeoTalk podcast. The corner shot shows a rear panel cut-around in the top surface of the sound centre. Also the discussion of the prism necessary to route the ambient light down into the LG's sensor implies that is below the top edge of the front panel. Not as dispositive as seeing it in the flesh at a dealer, but pretty likely indicators.
I have hoped for the otherwise but thank you.
To be fair, just had a price for moving my GX to the Eclipse v2 stand/sound center was actually far more decent than I feared. ie. very realistic option.
I think this will be my plan soon - move the GX 55" to a Eclipse v2 stand and the GX 65" kept on the wall.

How much? I thought our guesstimate is about GBP7000?

That's between me and my dealer :)
Point is, it's something worth considering.

I am happy for you and me
