Was the Beovision 8-40 ever available in the USA?

Thanks!

Yes.  I own one.  Unfortunately, its system and main PCB are shot (lightening strike).  The tube still works so the composite input still works, but no HDMI inputs or master link.  I can't bring myself to spend ~$1100 to fix it (and, to the surprise of the service center, it can be fixed), but I'm also having a hard time junking it.  I think it's about 7 years old.

Why do you ask?

Stan

Hey Stan,

Thanks for the info!  I have never seen one for sale in US.  I have a BV 8-32 in the bedroom and love it, so I was thinking a BV 8-40 would be good for the living room.  Depending where you are, if you ever want to let go of it I would be interested.  I don't mind tinkering with things to get them going properly again. I'd rather it go to a home than the recycle center (once I decide I'm really done with it), but I'm in Chicago so Atlanta would be costly shipping.

Stan,

Totally understand. When/if you are ready to let it go let me know. I actually had my BV 8-32 shipped to me from Chicago... I'd do my best to get it back to 100% again.

My last project was a BS3000. After a new laser install and a door adjustment. It was back to spinning discs. Smile
