Hello everyone.
I know this is a topic that has been described before, but unfortunately, I can not find the solution.
I want to connect my BL3500 mk1. for my Beosound Essence mk2. I purchased the correct cable from Steve from Soundheavenly, connected it to converter 1611 AUX (Have tried both an older version and a 1161166) But No sound! I can not turn on the BL3500 via my Beo4. It only turns on with the CD button but turns off quickly, because there is no signal. I've been told by Steve from SH that this setup should work with all video buttons; TV, DVD etc, but nothing works. Do you guys have any advice on how to fix this problem??
Thank you for your time and help.
Hi crasmusen,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems. There are several iterations of the 1611 converter, in order to drive the Beolab 3500 then you need the latest version (full type number 1161166) that can act as an ML driver. If a video button on the remote (eg. DTV) doesn't activate the converter via the cable that you purchased then this looks as though you have the earlier version of the converter.
I can't recall the software level of the latest converter, but I'm sure that the full type number 1161166 was printed on the label for this version.
Please drop me a line directly and we can look at modifying your cable to work directly from the Essence to the Beolab 3500 mk.1 if you wish at no extra cost - this should remove the need for the converter. Volume control will then be via the Essence, instead of the B&O remote.
Kind regards, Steve.
Steve.
