Hi!

I recently bought a Beogram 1700 along with a Beosystem 8500.

The Beogram 1700 has a few problems:

1) After having pressed 33/45-button and later aligning with a record, the tonearm directly withdraws to starting position, no sound gets played

2) The tonearm "hangs" in starting position, lowered down. When moving towrds a record risking to scratch the record both when aligning and withdrawing.

Anyone know why this happens and how to fix it?

Best regards!

The tracking force is set using the slider next to the counterweight and according to the cartridge/needle type (look in the user manual).
A tracking force gauge would tell you the actual force and allow you to verify the setting.
