Beogram 1100 turntable issue

Hi,

thank you for letting me join 😉

I have recently been clearing my dads house after he passed away and came across his Beogram 1100 turntable, it instantly took me back to my childhood and looking at the beautiful piece of machinery and wanting so much to use it. 

I am hoping to use it in my own system but there are a couple of problems with it.

As soon as it is plugged in the turntable starts to turn, it just constantly turns  I have let it go through the auto return process but it still keeps turning.

any ideas what to look for ?

also speed is slightly out, I have used the speed adjustment and still runs slightly slow
