Hi, I want to upgrade my BV10 to a more decent stereo setup (potentially surround) but I'm not sure what compact speaker to choose.
Sound sources will mainly be: spotify through chromecast, SACD through my NAS, and vinyls through my Rega p9
My choices are these:
BL 4000: A true classic compact speaker
BL 4: Are these good without sub? - or best for a rear speaker?
BL 14 - Im not sure about the design, sorry I think they look a bit cheap
Happy to get your input, most important for me is the sound, I would love to avoid a subwoofer
Thanks
Kristoffer

Beolab 4000 any day ... top spekar for the money.
Guys, thanks for the replies. Spot on..! gonna go with two BL4000. Perhaps 2 more if I want the surround...

I use my BL4 as rear speaker. The bass is quite weak so I would not use them for front main speaker unless with a subwoofer. They look really good, specially in blue.
BL4000 has lot more bass and can be used without a subwoofer depending on taste. I use them as front speakers without a subwoofer. Very good value for money ! Good sound and they are a true B&O classic.
I have not had a chance to listen to the BL14 but if you don’t like the look of them I would go for four BL4000 instead.
Hi, I just went for a 4xBL4000 with the right Sn numbers (thanks!). This setup is perfect, they are so flexible if you want to move them a bit a round..
Thanks again

Picture is coming! :) need to get them up, I have one more question. I've heard you can connect them in 'series' which would save some cables to your beovision.
I understand that you can do that from speaker to speaker, but how does the BV10 know which speaker it is (Front back L/R?) I have 4 DIN's in my beolab10..
Does this make sense?
Yes, the TV will know - as soon as you set it up in the Speaker set-up.
I have done the same with Beosystem 3.

You can not connect more than two speakers in series! Powerlink carries only left/right speaker!

Well, you have to put the powerlink connector into the corresponding sockets.
There are two sockets for Front and two sockets for Rear.
You can pull one powerlink lead to e.g first front speaker and then continue to the second front. On the speakers you need to set a switch to either "right" or "left".
