hello all
so I just got my Shape installed, I am trying to configure it and I am following the steps but at the design Id stage I input my design Id and it tells me my BeoSound shape does not match......so frustrated.
this after the core didn’t power up until I applied the obligatory wiggle and wrench to the core power supply....what do I want for 13 grand I hear you say.
am I doing something wrong??
Hi
If I were you, I will certainly check twice my wiring...
Hi, that’s the first thing I did....although I have 2 amps and I couldn’t find anything on how to connect them....I connected comms out amp 1 to comms in amp 2, I figure that might be wrong.. I also am not sure if I was meant to use the pose link cable, I read it that it was not needed because I was using the core, but I might be wrong.
cheers

Hi Markandsaz
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your shape. Please open the design in the web designer here
https://www.bang-olufsen.com/en/collection/wireless-speaker-systems/beosound-shape/configurator
and verify that it matches what you have on the wall. The number of amps and speakers has to match the design on your wall.
Best regards
Thomas, Bang & Olufsen
Hello
I am not sure what you mean?? I am trying to verify through the app.
my design does match what’s on the wall.

Do I use the power link?
do I use comms out from amp 1 to comms in to amp 2
Did you power up the equipment as per the guidelines?
When BeoSound Core is powered up it defaults to BeoSound Core. When integrated into a BeoSound Shape by powering everything up as instructed it tells the BeoSound Core that it is now BeoSound Shape and should allow you to input the design I.D.

Oh no I haven’t done a particular start up, should I power the amps first?
HI
Success?
Good day
yes after nearly taking it off the wall I was advised by the dealer to maybe start switching cables out. It was a faulty cat 5 cable that daisy chained the amps together. Pretty uninspiring fix, but then they generally are I guess.
Its worth noting this was a new cable out of the box from B&O.
What did come out of it though was a much better manual that dealer was able to get from B&O with detailed setup that I was previously not privee to, it is a much superior manual to what I could find online.
I also had sent a complaint to B&O directly expressing my frustration, they basically said sorry I was frustrated and sorry that I had also had previous problems with B&O equipment.....not all B&O issues...a smashed tv in transit wasn’t equipment failure but I lumped it in with my general email about the non seamless transition from show room to my tech life. They also linked me to the f@$&ing Youtube install/start up clips. You learn to hate the music in those clips, the bit that was galling was that I had made a point to say that the Youtube Clips had not helped. Anywho they were just trying to help, but at that moment it just added to my frustration.
so it’s on, It looks cool, but it’s not really exciting for us now, just another thing.
Good to know everything's fine now
Please, show us what it looks like in the "Flash your B&O" thread here : https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/227/234793.aspx#234793
