So, my newly restored beogram 2200 is acting very strange. I just put a record on it, turned on the power outlet and pressed start, then the deck started turning as expected, but.. no movement from the pickup arm. I then try to stop it to no avail . the player simply will not stop. I tried turning off the power, and on again, and it just starts turning immediately. Neither the stop or pause button does anything. I then turned the power off, tried taking the record of, and turned the power on again, and it still just keeps turning while the pickup does nothing. I find this very strange.
Note that the beogram has been working fairly flawlessly for the last week or so, however the stop and pause button has been working only on occasion - usually it only reacts on these buttons being pressed if its within about the first 10 minutes of the record. At least this is how it seems to work, though it makes no sense.
EDIT: The thing suddenly started working again, just by randomly pressing the buttons a whole number of times. oh well.
Just read your old post - sounds like the same problem as i’ve had with my Beogram 2200 - weird isn’t it. As soon as I plug mine in, the turntable starts revolving.
I note yours sorted itself out by magic. I hope this lasted? I believe mine went back to working OK once or twice but then reverted. I don’t know what to do with it now.
Haha Wow, Thats a long time ago! Anyway, it never really worked properly, and I ended up getting a replacement from the store. Good luck!
