Hi,

This is not an advertisement, since I have nothing to do with the sale...

I just saw this "item" on a Danish auction site this evening. Thought it might be of interest...

https://m.lauritz.com/en/auction/bang--olufsen-unik-privat-samling-af-udstyr-fra-1930erne-og-frem/i4904237

It's a collection of B&O items assembled over 8 years by a private collector. It's currently housed in a 300 sq. metre warehouse.

Cheers

The collection was already on the net.

I really wonder who has the space for such a big collection.

Here's another link to the auction with lot's of pictures.

http://www.lauritz.com/en/auction/bang-olufsen-unik-privat-samling-af-udstyr-fra-1930’erne/i4904237/

Will be interesting to follow the auction.

I believe i came across his web site a couple of years ago, but did not realize (from the auction pictures) it was so extensive. My favourite B&O piece is the Hyperbo 5 RG Steel, which seems there is only one in existence at Struer?! It would look perfect with my Cassina LC1 chairs :)

BV11-55, BS9000, BL1, BL19, Transmitter 1, Beo4, Beocom 6000, BeoTalk1 200, Sennheiser HD600, McIntosh MHA100

HUGE !

I love the alligned tv’s. 4 AV 9000 in a row, countless MX’s.

Strange : not one «modern» speaker.

There's a few choice bits in there I'd love... JJ for Berg seating set and the Hyperbo 5 being high priority!

The one in Struer is a replica.
- And not a particularly good one.

This is fantastic!

Whenever SWMBO says "Haven't you got enough Bang & Olufsen?" I can show her this!!

+1 Big Smile

....until I saw this, I thought that my B&O collection had got out of hand - however I'm not in the same league as this one!

What a shame the auctioneer isn't listing the items as separate lots (or even small groups of items in individual lots)?

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.

Close to 700 units is indeed an impressive collection.

I presume there are not lot of B&O collections of that size around the world. Most of them are likely placed in Denmark because those big old radios and particular radiograms are very difficult to get out of Denmark.

Does somebody know by chance something more about this collection or maybe about previous owner?

Ideal for a spare floor at Struer!

Someone will need a warehouse for this lot, and the tragedy is that apart from possibly a few dozen very rare items, the rest will likely be depreciating whilst their storage costs escalate. I would guess that the buyer will quickly break up the collection for re auction  .... unless of course it's a wealthy Beoworld member with an incurable dose of the virus.

I thought I had a big B&O collection but, there, I am completely flabbergasted ! Who can purchase a so huge collection considering the heavy price and the space to stock it. I agree with you the seller should have made small lots or individual piece for the most rare of them and there are some of them. Amongst numerous seldom items, I noticed an orange Beolit 609 (with though some broken ribs), a white Beocenter 1400 / 1500 and a white Beogram 1000... and a few other. I would have very pleased to add them to my modeste 300 pieces B&O collection. Smile

Incredible collection, I wish I had the opportunity to store this lot!

Marc, the white BG 1000 looks to be resprayed.  I don't believe they were sold in white, could be a prototype I suppose?

The white BC 1400 is a very rare piece! Anyone spot any other rarities?

Did anyone watch the end of the auction ?

I forgot, and the last price I saw 1 hour before close, was 135000DKK, very far from the estimate of 700000DKK (which also was away to high I think)

That was the last bid 135 000 DKK
So with buyers premium fee of 22.5% the final cost for the buyer was
165 375 DKK = 20 106 €  = 24 947 USD when I checked Lauritz.

Not shore if there was a minimum price the seller wanted for this auction?

I saw a different bid after closing:

http://www.lauritz.com/en/auction/bang-olufsen-unik-privat-samling-af-udstyr-fra-1930’erne/i4904237/

It is DKK 700.000 + the premium fee.

I am wondering who is paying €100000++ for this lot.

Noone.
That was the estimate selling price.
Closing bid was DKK 135.000

Let's see if it comes around again in a couple of weeks time...

Actually it was as I thought the seller did not receive his minimum price what he was asking for so they have reopen the auction.

So now we have 9 more days to bid on this but now it seems they have adjusted the estimated value for this lot to 500 000 DKK instead of 700 000 as it was originally.

The current bid is 450 DKK.
