Hi all,

All of a sudden, my restored 5500 refused to turn on. Damn!

The red dot lights up but nothing else happens.

I can hear the relay click when I press on, but that’s it.

When I try to read a CD the red dot blinks once.

I can only get the timer off display to show by pressing both sides of the panel.

Of course, no contact from the RC apart from a blink from the red dot then again from each action from the control unit or a BL 1000.

Any clues?

Thanks!

Jacques

I answer my own query. Wink

When I recapped I forgot two electrolytics on the processor board, which I hadn’t opened.

Et voilà Smile

For good measure I checked the lithium battery: a healthy 3.2 V.

I was about to suggest to replace it with your 4400 Jacques! Big Smile

Impossible: both are on duty!

Funny thing, when I powered up the Beomaster, treble was at -5 and balance fully to the left side.

Maybe it’s because I unsoldered the battery. I intended to replace it, but amazingly found it wasn’t even necessary.
