Is there a way to convert a BLGW (Beolink Gateway) to a BLC (Beolink converter NL/ML)?

Here is why I'm asking. I plan to connect my ML Beocenter 2 to my NL Avant 55. My dealer sold me a used BLC (as they are NLA new). When I received it, I noticed that it had a white sticker on top of the original silver sticker. The original sticker said it was a BLC. The white sticker's part number indicated it was a BLGW. The dealer, several states away, wasnt sure what I had. After several hours of frustration I finally was able to log into the unit and sure enough it was a Gateway. Physically, the two products appear identical, except the gateway has a sticker over the RCA input jacks (mine had no sticker and the jacks were there). So, this makes me think that the difference between a BLC and a BLGW is just different software. Is it possible to have my unit reprogrammed back to being a BLC?

Sounds like a pre-production unit based on an older BLC, with different s/w, something that I'd expect was sent out to dealers before the BLGW was finally released officially. I've seen oddball things like this before with B&O. I'd think you'd need to set the s/w backwards, but have no idea it that is possible or not or where you'd get the s/w. Can the s/w even be addressed externally? I had an old BLC and it had an eprom which had to be changed to do a s/w update.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

I came across this file for "latest BLC SW." I'm not sure how or if it could be used.
