Hi all
I bought a house and found a Beolink Passive 1657 in the loft. This is connected to 2 speakers in the bathroom.
The cables pugged in are:
Power
IR (although the controller is actually missing off the wall)
Power Link (No idea where this goes to!)
2x Speaker lines
NO INPUT CABLE into the Master Link socket
Now there is no other Beolink stuff in the house, just this box. I was hoping that I could hack this somehow and have a Chromecast Audio in the loft as an input to this from my Google Home setup. Anyone got any idea if this is possible? Happy to purchase a new IR controller if needs be - just be nice to use the speakers as they are built into the ceiling.
Thanks in advance
Darren
Hi Darren,
Welcome to Beoworld! You can use the Passive directly with a Chromecast Audio without any other B&O products connected, in this setup the Passive needs a special powered cable to generate the trigger signals that would normally be sent from a B&O audio system or television:-

This cable connects to the Powerlink socket of the Passive, a normal mains power cable is also required. Volume control is then via the mobile device that you are using to stream to the Chromecast.
Kind regards, Steve.
