Hi.

I have  6500 record deck.  I think the speed needs adjusting, as  records sound a little bit slow. It has had a new belt, and a reconditioned motor, so the problem is not related to that.  I have been told you can adjust the speed from under the base of the deck, but have no idea how this is done.  Can anyone offer any advice?

hi,
you need a stroboscopic disc 50hz, a screwdriver, and  normal lamp 220v/50hz.

If not available you can downlaod a stroboskopic disk from the internet.

The adjustment resistors are accessible from the bottom of your record player on the right site
(my picture will show this, be carefull and remove the Platte before you turn Your Player on the left site!!)

to adjust the speed your Player must be in the normal horizontal place.

33 rpm/min should be adjust first

The speed ist adjustable in two different ways:
1. With a stroboscopic disk an a lamp to the mains. This check has an inherent inaccuracy of approx. 2%
since the 50Hz mains frequency may derivate approx +/- 1Hz.
2. With aa stroboskopic dosk and a special stroboskopic lamp. This check will have an accuracy which
corresponds to that of the specifications of the stroboscopic lamp wich, normaly, are highly superior to
    those of the mains frequency.

The lamp light (or stoboskoplamp light) must illuminate the stroboscopic disk

The markings on the stroboscope disc do not move visually at the correct speed.

With the screwdriver you can now increase or decrease the speed until this optical effect is reached.

Don't turn your Beogram on its side!
Place it on the edge of a table, so that it sticks out enough (apprx 10cm) to reach the adjustments holes from below.
This way you can also adjust the speeds while playing.

A somewhat long flat-bladed screwdriver apprx 1.5-2mm wide will be the best tool.
