Hello!

I would like to make some PL cables to set up my system (2500 & 7000 systems with AV7000 & a remote room).  I  cannot find the wire gauge/shielding for these cables.  Perhaps this is covered elsewhere in the forums, but I have been unsuccessful with my searches.

Please share the needed gauge for PL cables.  I can and do solder all the time, and do not wish to purchase ready made.

Thanks!

As far as I know PL cables can be of any gauge, because they don't carry high current.

However, depending on the lenght of the cable you may need thick ones.

I’ve used shielded Cat5 and Cat6 cables for powerlink and they work fine.

I wonder how shielded cat6 would work for 7pin DIN cables? I've got a few project Beogram 8000's that could use their own cables.

Follow up:  I did use Cat 6 cable, and it seems to be working very well.    Cable is about 25' long.

Thanks!
