I have a Beocord 4500 arriving today from the Netherlands. I have a voltage converter to address the 230v to 120v, but my dear friend says I have another problem.
Europe uses 50 hz, here in the lower 48 we use 60 hz cycles per second
Is this a insurmountable problem?

Should not be a problem, you should also be able to switch the voltage in the transformer too (dont forget to put in a bigger fuse)
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Hi Soren,
So good to hear from you.
I have a voltage converter so I just plug in the 4500 and it is good to go.No need to switch the posts or the fuse with the voltage converter.
The lights come on, the cassette appears to play, faster forward, and the rest, BUT the lid doesn't open.
Oh I hear the motor whirring away, but nothing happens.
I plan to open this BC up on the weekend, but anything in the way of a heads-up, what to look for, would be really helpful.
