I have just finished refurbishing my old BC9000. The servo board has been re-capped (thanks to Dillen ) and the cd-player works again. The loose glass panels and the plastic frames have been cleaned and attached with new foam tape ( 6mm x 0,5mm ).
The tape deck also works fine, but I can hear a sound from it after stop. The sound remaims if I choose other options like aux, radio etc, and first disappears when I set the BC on stand-by.
Is this a normal behavior?
The white side- and front panels have turned yellowish, probably from nicotine and uv-light. Is there a way to bring them back to white? I have different things without effect.

Many B&O cassette decks have this funny feature, the motor and capstans remain turning once you have "accessed" the deck. I suspect BC9000 does the same and this is normal.
Unfortunately there's usually nothing you can do about yellowed plastic, other than replacement.

Thanks Mika. I can live with both the sound and the yellowed sides. No big deal.
