My Century does not work after removing from wall to isnpect door sensor.

Now after stand by mode when pressing any source, it starts like normal but suddently act like loosing power and returns at starting point. also no spin, no sound,  nothing...

Power relay do not act, but when contact shorted, it has power and amps are working.

Is there any known problems with Centurys?

Cheers

For a long time back with this. Can't find anything obviously.

It could be on for a half minute, then squeel and bang from speakers and shutdown (reset via loose of power?)

Any ideas?

Update. I tought amps were ok, left one probably is not because bumb is coming from it. Previously I did not have speaker connected, and did not hear it.

There is not current adjustmet on end darlingtons? Can I throw any pair there or not?

It seems as though the unit is shutting down due to a "power fail".It could be due to one of the tweeters,or the output amplifier chip's becoming faulty?

What did you do to investigate the door system initially?

Did not much to investigate, removed frets and front panels to check sensor supply and functions, noting there, slight misplacement but not seriously.

Checked now with P14, amp power supply connector, off. Everything seems to work ok, so next step is to test if it is power  darlingtons (30v) or STK chips (15v).

Without 30v it works bit longer, so it is STK.?

An  STK is the most likely culprit, but check the tweeters too,as they can become short circuit!

Finally with this again.

Looks like it is broken trace on power supply board, system on/off line from IC1.

Yes, now it is ok.

What a nasty and well hiding fault.

Just by accident found it when I was about to connect wire to testpoint, and noticed it is loose. In fact whole trace was more or less loose. Maybe recent house moving has something to do with this, Or agening circuit board. I don´t know.
