Hi, does anyone know if this is possible, whilst leaving all other circuits working?

I'm thinking of removing the tube from my Avant 28 RF, and replacing it with a full intact Sony LED TV. I would then take the audio out of the TV into the camcorder sockets.

Outcome would be modern smart TV, on beautiful Avant stand, with stunning sound.

Will removing the tube activate various fail-safe circuits and render the whole thing useless?

Thanks

Nick

Something very similar was discussed here: https://archivedarchivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/25169.aspx?PageIndex=1

Sadly the photos are missing.  I seem to recall other threads.

Thanks for the reply. To be honest it looks like the work extends beyond my electronics knowledge ability.

However I have had another idea - strip everythng out except the speakers (so lose the amp) and use the new BeoCreate 4ch amp, which with a Raspberry Pi and DSP program would replace both the amps and crossovers, and give me optical in.

OK I lose the motorised stand and Beo4 control, but keep the looks and speakers.

If you decide to go the 4CA route, let me know if you need assistance. I think this is an exciting use case for it.

Having Beo4 support and stand control, whilst not plug-and-play, shouldn't be impossible. Beo4 I have used in one of my projects by scavenging the receiver from a Beolit 12 and wiring it to an Arduino which talks to the Pi. There's a chance that the receiver in the Avant is similarly compatible.

Thanks for your offer. The bit I’m most concerned about us designing the crossover using Sigmastudio as I have no experience in that field. Is there any advice you can offer on that?
