So this is my first Beoworld post ever.
Although I am the owner of several older and newer B&O and Beoplay products, this is the first product I really wanted to review.
I received a pair of Beoplay E8 as a Christmas present, as I had recently bought an iPhone 8 which did not have an auxiliary input, so i decided to switch to Bluetooth. As a huge B&O and Beoplay fan and a fond user of in-ear earphones, I just had to have the Beoplay E8.
Now as for looks (I know it is up for the individual person to decide whether they are pretty or not) I believe they are the nicest looking in-ear earphones on the market. Simply because of the discreet look they have, and the materials used compared to other manufacturers.
My ears are not the biggest, but the E8's fit nicely in my ear. I use the comply foam eartips as they ensure the best fit. When I cycle with them and walk with them they do not move, so I would say they work perfectly for those situations, but running is not possible with them.
The sound is perfect for my needs. I think the bass level is well balanced and deep, even if I am cycling with a lot of wind hitting my ears (which also means that the fit in the ear is really good). The other sound frequencies are also as expected, with high quality B&O and Beoplay signature sound. While on the move I have my iPhone volume set at 50% or 8/16 bars i believe, which means that they are powerful enough for me to hear the deep and high frequencies at a sound level not hurting my ear or making the rest of the frequencies unbearable to listen to.
As for all the functions i would say they are easy to learn and easy to use. I can use them with my leather gloves which is important here in Denmark where I live, because of the cold weather and because removing my gloves to control the sound is annoying while cycling.
As for the transparency mode it didn't work properly at the beginning, firstly it would not pause the music when I did it (although the music went away, it did not pause it so I would miss a part of a song or album), secondly when I stopped the transparency mode by pressing on my left earphone it did not stop it on my right earbud. Although this problem seems to have been fixed, otherwise it works very well, I can even hear birds singing while using the function.
Battery lives up to what Beoplay has stated. I managed to use them for 13 hours at one point.
The main problem with the earbuds is, that my left earphone (slave earphone) falls out once in a while, usually only for a few milliseconds, BUT IT STILL HAPPENS. Although I have not contacted B&O or Beoplay regarding this issue, I still believe it is a valuable point to make. I have noticed a lot of other users experiencing it, and no update has fixed it so far...
Would i recommend them? Yes of course i would!
The fallout is annoying yes, but it happens once maybe every 30 minutes (so a total of 8 times on one charge). Despite their hefty pricing the plus-sides of the earphones weighs up for the fallout problem. So if you enjoy in-ear earphones and hate cables and stupid apple converters buy them, they are far better than the Apple Airpods my friend has.

Chris Townsend:I bought a pair and returned them virtually immediately due to Bluetooth connection issues. I’ve ended up with a pair of Apple Airpods and a Samsung Note 8. Considering they’re half the price, they have been brilliant and personally, sound better too

I have a pair of BeoPlay H8s which a) cut-out if I move around too far and b) seem very quiet over Bluetooth. A couple of weeks ago I bought a pair of Beat's on-ear headphones and they are tonnes better - not had a single cut-out, seem louder and more consistent. I guess it might be because they have that Apple A1 chipset, but they are definitely much more consistent.
I'm a huge BeoPlay fan, but instead of bringing out new colours, I wish they'd perfect their existing products sometimes.
I do not know if it is just me and my ears, but I am not fond of the AirPods unisize shape. I cannot get a nice fit in my ear, which means that they are more likely to fall out and because of more background noise getting through I also have to turn the volume up on damaging levels. That is why I feel the e8’s are a better choice for me and maybe for other users with a similar problem.

When I was in California two weeks ago, I couldn't believe how many American's were walking around with AirPods in their ears! Often, they'd only have one in, taking calls I think? I guess LA is such a car-only location, people like to chat when driving, then carry on their call when they leave their car.
Welcome! Good to see a friend join the forum. Great review too! I would have to agree with most of what you said based on personal experience with my E8.

By ‘drop out’ I do not mean that it actually drops out of my ear, I mean that it has a short connection drop once in a while.

To be fair, that was very clear (your description).

w5bno123:I own a pair of E8’s and use them daily. I can agree with most of the OP but not sure how B&O can help you with your left ear issue. The human ear is very complex, as you speak, chew and breathe your ear canal constantly moves. I would suggest using a different size bud for your left ear. Having used H5 for a while with Comply tips I found the fit very good but not even tried them on my E8’s yet, I’ve been using them with the fitted silicon’s.
