Was just having a look on the Beoplay website and noticed the H6s weren't anywhere to be found, so I went to https://www.beoplay.com/en/products/beoplayh6 which then redirects to https://www.beoplay.com/en/landingpages/discontinued (noticed the same thing for the S8 and S3 last week too).

The H6s are so well reviewed so it's such a shame to see B&O abandon such a highly acclaimed product, and I suppose there's a bit of a nostalgic/emotional aspect to the disappointment since the 1st gen H6s were the first Bang & Olufsen product I've ever owned.

My local B&O dealer did mention that he thought the H6s were going to be discontinued when I bought some E8s last year just after they came out, but I wasn't expecting it this soon!

Sorry if this has already been noticed/posted before - had a look and couldn't find anything but might have missed it.

Just noticed the H7, H2, and H3 ANC are all gone from the site too, and all their product pages redirect to the "You are out of luck" page too. Not sure how long ago all of these were discontinued though.

Tightening the lineup. I had a set of h2s in the closet that I threw a decent cable on and I was amazed at how much better they could sound. The H6s will be missed. I finally found and ordered a set of the love affair H6s online and will eventually get a set of Larvicables for them.

Beginning to think mayflies have longer lives than Play products.

Jeff

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

More likely, BeoPlay has an Attention Deficit Disorder culture and can't get enough Ritalin to focus on anything long enough to get it right. It'a a Millennial thing, I guess.

H3 ANCs have been replaced by the E4s. I have both, and the E4s have fixed a few of the minor niggles I had with the H3s.  The wires are slightly lighter so they don't pull out / weigh down the ear buds as much, the rectangular battery/electronics module is easy to find the switches vs the H3s round, and it has transparency mode (use the ANC mics to bring in background noise so you can hear / talk without removing the buds from your ears.

Sad that the H6 is discontinued... I think it's superb for the holidays and long phone call sessions. :-)

Should buy some as a backup.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing - going to try and keep an eye out for a pair made before they decided to stop including a carry bag too.

Oh wow, does the cable really make that much of a difference? Do you have any recommendations that aren't as expensive as the Larvicables ones? Nice!

I’m not usually the biggest believer in upgrading cables but this really was eye opening for me. Getting away from the inline volume controls makes a big difference, I think and like Steve says, https://soundsheavenly.com/bo-play/premium-braided-cable-for-beoplay-h2-h4-h6-h7-h8-headphones-with-metal-plugs

Using the cable from the H9/7 is better than the one on my H6/2. Another Beoworld’er was over once with an aftermarket nice but lower priced cable that made the H6/7/9 sound much better than the cable from the h9. I didn’t like one side of his 3.5mm ends on his cable so I bought a different lower priced no-name nicer cable off amazon and it didn’t sound as good as I remembered his cable but couldn’t do a side by side test and my no-name cable was a little better than the H7/9 cable. I keep doing a/b testing, it’s a lot of fun.

So, I can’t recommend anything strongly yet, I’m just intrigued enough that I’ll eventually “invest” in a really fancy. The discussion about the h6s on https://www.head-fi.org/threads/bang-olufsen-beoplay-h6-discussion-thread.702524/ is interesting but a little intense.
