I have a Beovision 7-40 TV, a Beosound 9000 CDPlayer, a pair of Beosound 6000's , a pair of Beosound 8000's, and a subwoofer. I am now connecting up all these speakers using Powerlink cables. My question is this; I have some Mk3 cables and some Mk 2, can I mix these when connecting things up or do they all have to be either Mk2 or Mk 3 ? I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.

Hi,
Sometimes it can be hard to tell just by looking at an old Powerlink cable which version it is. The link between the subwoofer (Beolab 2, 11 or 19) must be either a mk.3 cable, or a fully wired mk.2 that has pin 7 connected, otherwise you will hear a hum through the subwoofer. The connections to the Beolab 6000 and 8000 speakers can be any version of cable due to their older amplifier technology, but newer cables will generally improve the sound.

Kind regards, Steve.
