I'd like to strip the black paint off of a pair of old CX100s I have to take them back to the 'raw' aluminium look.

Is this possible and has anybody had experience of doing this? With some kind of paint stripper I guess. I want to be as undestructive as possible (avoiding steel wool and such),

Thanks

Jon

As far as I know, the color is in the eloxation.
The color of the "alu"-finish CX speakers is also eloxation. It's not raw aluminium, which would be
next to impossible to clean and care. Even the slightest fingerprint will be visible and if left on the surface, turn
black from acid attacking the alu.

Thanks Martin. I will shelve any further ideas on this project. Thanks for stopping me from getting into a right mess and ruining a perfectly fine set of speakers.
