What does this group think of the BeoCenter 9500? Imagine that you owned a BeoSound 4000, fully functional but needing expensive cosmetic repair. Would you repair, or replace it with a fully-functional BC 9500?

I had one briefly and I like it enough to go 4 hours by train to get it. Price was fair but it needed a service and Dillen got it then it got sold on.
I had got in touch with my desired Beosystem 6500 in white.
As long as works its really a design matter and what you prefer. I have been trying different things and there is not much difference sound wise just design.
Still it's fun to have and try different Beosystems until you find the one you like the most.
If the 4000 rules more then get it serviced.
I would get the 9500 if a good price - best B&O product I have owned. Brilliant design and good sound.

Thank you all for your thoughts. To update: just yesterday I pulled the trigger on a BC 9500 offered on eBay. I take delivery late next week. Wish me luck.
As for the BS 4000, I'm undecided. The top of one of the glass doors has separated from the open/close railing. The small plastic part that attaches to the glass and glides over the railing snapped into pieces during a cleaning. I don't think I have skills (and I know I don't have the part) to fix it myself. I may end up selling it off - I'm sure there are some who could fix that up in a jiffy.
