Hello all,

As time goes on more and more of our systems get cracked glass on their control panels. This breaks my heart.

However there is a company in the UK that creates replacement glass at least for the BS3500/4500 systems.  bought a set for my BS3500. It works, however the window for the 7-segment display looks beyond horrible.

So now I'm on the hunt for how to make new glass that looks correct. What are people doing to restore the glass on older B&O products? In particular how are you doing the 7-segment window? In the coming week I'm going to be picking up some smoked glass and experimenting with transparent paints.

What other options are there?

Cheers

To my knowledge, no-one is manufacturing glass themselves. The original ones are layers of very specific paint, very hard to replicate without the expensive machines to apply the paint.

Just buy a defect unit with intact glass, remove the old tape and apply new one, and keep on living your life :) Manufacturing of new panels will take all your spare time, and never look as good at the original :)
