HI

I am looking at a pair of Beolab 6000 active speakers for a friend.

When they are plugged in, the LED goes green and the relay clicks in, but on the left speaker, it then goes red again, so it seems that it goes into standby.

These used to work with both channels fed via phono sockets, but the left speaker no longer works, having been move a few feet.

Someone mentioned a regular contributor on here who may know what the issue is?

THanks

Martin

Hi Martin,

Welcome to Beoworld!  If you are using the speakers with a non-B&O music player via the phono sockets, please can you check that both speakers are set to "Line" mode via the small switch underneath (ie. not the L or R positions)?  The issue may just be down to the switch being in the wrong position.

If this doesn't help, please let me know which device the speakers are connected to and I will be pleased to assist further.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.

Hi Steve

Yes, both are set to 'Line'.

Connecting a phone lead to the right speaker and touching the centre pin (+) powers the speaker up and makes a 50 Hz buzzing noise as a signal is detected.

The other speaker however, thumps when first powered up, the rely clicks and the light turns green. However, the rely then drops out and the light turns red, the speakers going to standby.

I've connected the phono to a number of devices including a CD player with a variable output and it won't switch from standby..

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your reply.  This sounds like a faulty line input socket on one speaker, so the best option is to ask a local B&O store or repairer to take a look.

Kind regards, Steve.
