I purchased a beogram rx 1700 #5773 and from what I can tell the tone arm was yanked out and one of the fine copper wires was broken and is no longer apart of the wires going to the out put connectors.  I am assuming this is not good and this table will no longer play properly.  I would need to buy a cartridge in order to test this assumption. Is it worth purchasing another TT to swap out the tone arm? Or should I just like many others, place this on Ebay as a parts unit, it appears to function properly minus the tone arm.
