Hi,
I have a pair of Beolab 4000. I connected them to my apple airport express. Recently, one speaker does not respond to audio input while the other works fine. I've tested cables and power codes, but they seem to be fine. If I pull out the power code and put it back while it has an audio input signal, the speaker usually works. But it rarely wakes up from the idle state.
Could you advise me how to fix this kind of issue?
Thanks,
J
Hi J,
Welcome to Beoworld! If you unplug the cables from both speakers and swap them over, does the fault stay on the same speaker or move to the other speaker please? This can help you to see if you have a speakers fault or a cable issue.
Are both speakers set to "Line" mode using the small switches at the back? If a switch has been knocked to the wrong position, this could cause the fault that you described.
Kind regards, Steve.
Steve.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for welcoming me!
The speakers have been working fine for some years. The problem is a recent development. I switched the line in cables between the two speakers and the problem stayed with the same speaker. So I guess it is not a cable issue. I did the same test with power cables and found no issues. Both are in the "Line" mode. As I said, if I plug in and out the power cable couple of times, it catches the signal and makes sound. However, it doesn't wake up once it goes to the suspend mode unless I pull in and out the power cable again.
Best,
