Hello, As I was changing the cones on Beolab 6000, I made a stupid mistake and put on power before one of the speakers had the cones in. Idiot me. Burning smell followed and now the speaker is dead. I read somewhere here, it could possibly be a fuse in the speaker or transformer that is gone. How easy is it to fix myself, or should I just bite the bullet and get an expert to look at it? I could kick myslef for besing sooooo stupid! Thank you in advance. Henrik

Hi Henrik,

Sorry to hear that you are having problems.  The speaker will need professional attention to ensure that it is safe to use.

Beolab speakers are mains powered and so they should never be opened or worked on while the power is connected - please remember that they contain capacitors that store electrical charge, so you are at risk of an electrical shock when opening the speaker even after the speaker has been unplugged.

Hope that you are able to get the speaker repaired.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
