Hi

I will bring my BeoLab1 speakers to the USA. I assume that these euro speaker need to be adjusted to accept 110v?

How easy is this done?

Thanks!

I’ve been told by many to not do that because of cost and just get a good quality power convertor. Should run you around 30 bucks or so.

Svinaik runs a loewe bild 7 77” oled tv one one and it’s working fine last time i head Smile some of these power converter have a power rating so get one x2 with a high rating like 2500watts or so and you should be good for even bl5’s Stick out tongue

There are lots of step up transformers available on Amazon.

Get one with double the maximum wattage the speaker needs. This way, you are far above and beyond any wattage spikes you may encounter, but your transformer will also run cold to the touch.

I am running a set of Beolab 8000 with 500w transformers for each speaker. The transformers come with a power switch, but you can leave them on permanently.

I always thought that the BL1 had the same basic electronic chassis as the BL9, which would make them worldwide 100-240v capable?

Check on the rear if that's true, if so a simple power cord change is all that might be needed.

Hi,

You can call ahead and ask a major USA service centre for a price on the following:

2x backup suitcases for Beolab 1 Type 6843 (USA 120V Part 3395146). They may even have some spares from a process completed previously.

Or ask a service centre in Sweden if they have some spares as well from the reverse process.

Many years ago the Australian service in Camberwell used to provide a similar service for those from the USA which was about AU$400.

Good luck Beoaus.
