I have a pair of Beolab17s, and connect them with my Sony Bravia 9000F via TOSLINK. However there're some problems:

1. There's no sounds after a sharp bursting sounds if I go wrong with audio settings, like Dolby 5.1.

2. Volume cannot be adjusted using the TV remote unless I dig deep in the menu to the advanced settings.

3. TV always occupy the loudspeakers even I've turned it off (standby mode actually, can't totally shut it off), therefore the Beolab17s can't pick audio from other sources like Chromecast.

I see there might be two ways to solve the issues:

1. Use Beolab transmitter 1 and IR receiver. Just feel it's too expressive to only get them work properly but without any upgraded.

2. Beosound Core or Beoplay TV Hub, not sure whether they can work. It seems the TV Hub has been discontinued already.

Is there any other easy solutions from 3rd parties which can solve the problems?

Hi Koijan,

The Beoplay S8 Connection Hub (now discontinued) is ideal to resolve this issue, as it will give you easy volume control of the speakers via the TV remote and you can connect another music source to the 3.5mm input of the Hub.  There should still be a few of these Hubs available via pre-owned B&O sellers if your local B&O store doesn't have any left.
