Hello all,
Newbie here, have come across Beoworld and boy am I glad I've found it! Have recently acquired a Beovision 7-40 Mk3 and am left scratching my head at some things as the support documentation is honestly a little "idiosyncratic" if I'm honest ;)
I have the motorised table stand and the 7.2 speaker also. Boy oh boy is that speaker fantastic, hands down the best feature of the package by miles. Here are a few questions, apologies if there is an exact answer pre-existing, I've done by best to find it!
- The motorised table stand: I can't seem to get things to work as expected. In short:
It doesn't turn side to side at all. Could of course be motor failure, no red lights under the TV to suggest software failure. Stand is recognised by the TV in menu so connection seems fine, no obvious fraying of wires. In the stand orientation setup, I *can* tilt up and down by pressing green/red on the Beo 4, but no turning using the left/right buttons. When pressing stand on the remote I can't seem to get anything to move at all. Preset video/audio/standby stuff, can't seem to get anything to move (neither turn nor tilt). I wonder if it's an issue with the remote - I know there are some peculiarities depending on the model. My model has TV/DVD/RADIO/CD/AUX on it.
- HDMI looks ok but I think could be improved with some settings adjustments - anyone got any good prebaked settings to get the most out of HDMI in? (does it natively set at 1080?)
- Currently able to get HMDI A up by replacing the default CAMERA input on AV6 and swapping it out. I can't get AUX to work with anything else. Again, maybe this is an issue with the Beo 4?
- Lastly, which could actually answer a bunch of the above - am I using the Beo 4 wrong? Or are there settings I can change? I looked up how to reset the Beo 4 but the instructions seemed to be for a newer version.
Sorry this is a bit of a jumble - I consider myself normally quite technically literate but I am an absolute immigrant to the B&O universe! Thanks in advance for any help/thoughts!
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
That sounds awesome! Does it connect to the TV somehow or is it a camera job?
Hi folks, don't know if this is relevant/of interest, but I've figured out that my Beo4 is a "hotel" Beo4 (the more you learn!).
If of interest the top 9 buttons are:
TV [BLANK] CD
DVD [BLANK] RADIO
MENU [BLANK] AUX
Under the number pad I have TEXT and STAND.
Still very confused about how the stand works. If I press STAND, should I just be able to control the tv's position with the nav? Or is STAND just to bring up the position adjustment for standby/video/audio?
Power down the TV completely, remove it from mains and also disconnect the stand for 10 minutes
Connect the stand cable before connecting power to the TV, then power up and should be Ok. The TV doesn't like the stand connected if the TV is currently connected to mains(even if off)
if no dice, may be a faulty connection or motor. Test the Left & right & Up & down
If you pres STAND the word should be displayed in white letters on the right front of your BV. If it does, the stand should be connected correctly.
Now you can select a position by using the number buttons (1-left....9-right) or use the cursor buttons left/righr/up/down. The navigation button won't work.
btw - check sw of your BV. With earlier BV7-40 MK3s it is not possible to use a BEO4 with nav. Button.

Apart from rhe fact that I have never heard of a ‘hotel Beo4’ with navi (correct me if I am wrong),
you certainly can use use the navi-Beo4 in that case.
You will have to set it to the right mode:

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Hi, possibly I used nav/navi incorrectly. My hotel remote has the up/down/left/right star (from what I can tell there is no cosmetic difference between nav/non nav beo4)
Regardless, stand is definitely correctly connected and recognised, in stand mode nor video/audio/standby position set functions I can't move it at all whatever I press. The only thing it will do is tilt up/down when I am in the stand adjustment settings using red/green.
Thanks for the replies folks
