Here’s an H9 review, where they get top marks.. Considering the opposition, they must be excellent. Any owners care to share their own experience?

A good review score but the content is, by and large, utter bollocks! An example -

"The timing in the H9i is a big part of what makes them so enjoyable too. Having notes stop, start and flow from one to another when they should helps to give them drive and attack when appropriate but poise and consideration when it’s not."

Ban boring signatures!

Soundwise, mine are very good.

But... I have a problem with the touch control, and there is absolutely no after sale service from B&O in France : I'm trying to get them repair my H9i with their automatic support page : no feedback appart from automatically generated emails explaining how to deactivate automatic ear detection which should solve my problem (it doesn't solve anything, and I wonder how they dare saying that I just need to get rid of a function to get a working H9i).

By email to Beocare : no feedback.

As I got a very early model, I hope the problems are now history and you can buy a pair. But if you don't buy them at a physical retailer (my nearest retailer is around 100km away), consider that you bought it to Aliexpress, the after sale service from B&O is now completely non existing.

I own two pairs: one in black, one in Limestone. I love the sound they produce. Of course, the tonal balance is tweakable via the app.

The noise cancelling is the best I’ve ever heard from B&O headphones. I find it effective on airplanes, and it lacks that awful “sucking” sensation of Bose noise-cancelling headphones.

The H9is also feel better-made than the plasticky Bose.

I’ve been fortunate that the music I listen to doesn’t trigger the artefacts reported by others on this forum.

I loved the sound of the black H9is so much, I bought a second pair in Limestone. Yes - I succumbed to the marketing. But O love using them.

One thing that’s very important, Chris, is to correctly hold the headphones when they do their calibration at switch-on.

Before you switch them on, make sure that the ear pieces are at the right length for your head.

Then, while holding the headphones by the headband so that they hang down, switch them on.

The little light will come on, but just keep holding the headphones in that position until the light goes off.

The headphones are now calibrated for the “pause when you take them off”.

Good luck,

Lawrence

H9i are excellent headphones, so good that I would actually buy a pair in that lovely shade of green!

Hi Beoworlders,

I just bought a H9i.

The sound is awesome, but as everydoby I find the touch functions a bit tricky.

Second difficulty, I cannot open the left cap to exchange the battery.

I turn the cap anti-clockwise, but it does not move and seems to be blocked.

Is there a trick I should know?

Thanks a lot,

Yann.
