Hello everybody,

I recently rediscovered my love for B&O audio and bought a Beomaster 2000, Beogram 9500 and Beolab 6000. I have two issues:

1) at one of the Beolab speakers, the high tone unit sometimes drops out and a hiss can be heard while the other systems in the speaker continue functioning. Any idea where to look for the fault?

2) I bought a Bluetooth receiver whose output goes into one of the TP inputs. I'd like this unit to switch the Beomaster from Standby to Power when the connection is established, just as the Beogram starts up the Beomaster when it starts playing a disc. Does anybody know whether this can be achieved by sending a signal over the two Beolink signal pins? Is it just DC at a certain voltage or is it more complicated?

Thanks in advance,

Best wishes from Berlin,

Hansjörg

Hi Hansjörg,

Welcome to Beoworld.

Are you bu the way Hansjörg from "Apocalypse its zum früstuck"?
That would be a really small world but not so surprising when you know the first time i met the B&O Brand was in Berlin in a sister's room and it was a very sleek and flat silver hifi device I never saw before!

As for you two questions, I'm not really a man of that knowledge but if it can help:

1) Hiss in Beolabs is often a wire issue, check the ones you have are correct mark. Or maybe a tweeter default.

2) Nothing an that one, my taste for the brand starts with the 2500.

Anyway, in both case, Steveatsoundheavenly, a valuated members here may be a great help.

All the best..

Hi Hansjorg,

Welcome to Beoworld!  This sounds like a faulty speaker - it could be worth asking your local B&O store to take a look at this.  Unfortunately, Beomaster 2000 isn't able to automatically turn on when the bluetooth receiver starts to play (the two Datalink pins use a complex communication signal using a high frequency data code, this isn't just a trigger voltage).

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
