Hi!

Since over a year I now own a Horizon-40 TV, my first B&O product. I love its aesthetical values, but after this one year of usuage I can now tell that that's about it. Here are my problems:

- I have to "plan" switching that thing on. It takes about a 40 seconds before the "curtains" open to show the TV image and another 20-30 seconds for the remote to be responsive. Those times are even longer when I connect an external hard drive, so I don't. How come the TV is so slow, and what can I do to change it? I have installed every software update so far. There has never been any noticable improvement. Since months, no further update has been available though.

- I have connected the latest Apple TV to the Horizon, that's it.

- Sometimes, when switching the device off, the screen goes black, but the green power light remains on. In those cases the TV often hangs. I then have to pull the plug and plug it back in in order for it to be operable again (after waiting for minutes, of course). What's going on there?

- I can't find a comfortable method to tune things like brightness and color. The menu is very complicated. I have the impression that the image is very dark in general. What are your suggested settings? I mostly watch Netflix 4K.

It really is a pity that you pay thousands of Euros and then have to struggle with issues like this. My official B&O dealer hasn't been very supportive so far, only saying that they are aware of some problems and recommend me to pull the plug from time to time. This is ridiculous.

I am hoping to find some suggestions here.

Thank you!

Regards
Jay

I had a BV14 for 9 months before returning it

My issues were the same

But it was primarily the screen and picture quality that made me return it

The 14 and Horizon have worse panel technology than the Avant that came before it.

It's has a backlight but very few dimming zones, and as I have said many times before, the 14 / Horizon are bad at content with dark scenes.

The pre Android Avant I have now in its place is much better

Hello,

It is highly recommended to do the factory reset and set it up again in your case, also make sure the quick start timer is activated. I’m sure that your local dealer suggested that already.

Also sign in with the android platform in the tv (email), this will keep the apps updated.

My Beovision 14 had a major software upgrade on Thursday 6 Dec. It went from Version: 0.7.0.209 to Version 0.8.1.013. This was the first upgrade we have had since installing it 3 months ago - it was very exciting to watch!

Did anyone's Horizon get an upgrade? I assume the software is similar given the Android TV platform.

I can't tell any differences. If anything, volume control is now more laggy on the Beoremote One.  Despite the upgrade, it seems to be the same version of Android TV Nougat. I was wishing for a later version of Android, and hoping that the BV14 can ride the Horizon's coat tails. My BV14 must have been one of the last off the line.
