Hello frends, this is my 1st post.
Deck works without any problems, but during record nothing can be hear...but meters shows input signal and cassette is flawlessly recorded.
any idea why is that?
Regards,
Andrej
Hi Andrej,
What do you have your Beocord connected to? The Beocord 800x - 9000 cassette decks do not provide a tape monitor so you can't listen to the recorded tape while it is being recorded on.

Thank you for your answers...yes i know, that deck doesn't have monitor as not have 3 heads, but im not talking about this function. When you put normal 2 head cassette deck in record mode, signal goes thru and can be heared via cassette decks output...and led signal meters shows recording signal. In my case as i wroted in my first message, when deck is in recording mode led meters shows input recording signals but nothing cames out on deck's outputs. When recording is finished, rewind and played...deck playes.
Hello Andrej
maybe there's a logical function in microprocessor that exclude headphone output during recording, honestly never seen nothing similar on others brands decks.
Have a nice afernoon

Really??? Never???
Every cassette deck, which is connected to amp, preamp,..2 way(rec/PB), when you put it in rec mode...you can hear output which is regulated with cassette deck's rec level potentiometers.
This is not function of specific deck, but general state of deck's electronics. It's the same witg 3 head decks, except there you can also hear recorded tape with switch on tape. If its on source you hear what cames inside...atd this is the same with 2 head decks...you can hear source...YES?
Sorry for misunderstanding , your B&O is the first I've see with this feature, in all of my deck, 2 or 3 heads, I can hear source during recording.
Yes...exactly...every deck..2 or 3 head you can hear source but i can't...i see vu meters working depends od L/R rec level slider...but no hear...that's why i asked if someone know where can be problem.
I have my Beocord 9000 connected to a Yamaha C-70 preamplifier so in that connection I cannot use the B&O DIN cable. I use a DIN to RCA cable. The L&R record jacks plug into the Yamaha record out and the L&R playback plug into the Yamaha tape playback. With that connection I can press the Tape function on the Yamaha and listen to anything being played back on the Beocord. Note however, the Beocord must have the Line/DIN switch underneath set to Line. When I record from a phono source (I have a Beogram 8002 plugged into the Yamaha Phono input) I can listen to the phono source using the Yamaha Phono selection. If I switch the Yamaha to Tape I will not hear anything while the Beocord is recording. That is the way I have found it to work on all of the Beocord 800x - 9000 cassette decks. When you think about it there isn't any benefit in listening to the phono source through the tape deck since it can't actually monitor the recorded audio off the tape (being a two head tape deck).
Thank you for your answers. Yes, i have the same connected...rear DIN to RCA and connected to my preamp. On front selector switch is on amplifier.
All Beocords in this series (except Beocord 9000) mutes the line outputs while recording. If not done this way, you could risk self-oscillation ("microphone whine") if the Beocord is in record mode andyou select Tape as the source on a Beomaster.

@Martin...this is what i wanted to hear...thank you.
regards,
Another question...where can i get service manuals for this deck?
There are digital (PDF) copies available here on the Beoworld web site but you will need to upgrade your membership level to at least Silver. The Beocord 8004 does not have its own, separate service manual. It has an insert that goes along with the main Beocord 800x (8000, 8002) service manual. If you want an actual, hard copy version of the manual they come up for sale fairly often on Ebay.
Sorry for late reply.
thank you for your detailed informations.
