Hi all,

Have somebody over here ever tested some resource for speaker fabric. A website to order it would be great. I'm very critical when it comes to quality, so only reply if you're sure that it matches the original as closely as possible.

Thanks for helping me out.

I actually found a perfect match to my S45 (70s) fret material using 28 count black linen that is used for cross stitch. It's a perfect match to my eye. Standard speaker fabric is too thin and lacks the body of the linen. I have not found a match for my C & CX speakers yet.

B&O original speaker fabric/cloth quality? Are you serious? One sneeze and you have a hole in your cloth!

The looks are great though!

Not sure what you mean. The fabric I've seen always seemed sturdy and thicker than the usual fabric on many other brand speakers. Now the fabric on the 80s S45 was much more flimsy.

I was more talking about the fabrics like Penta's, RL series, Beolab 6000's, very thin...

I'm sure many companies such as romo may be able to recommend as they are in the fabric business. I'm a bit of a fabric fan. What I think would look great is the fabric that Mercedes use as the fabric for the sun blind under the panoramic roofs.

Yes - but remember that many Penta's and RL's are 20+ years now - so no wonder if the fabric is not at it's best anymore...Wink

Like the Beolab 6000's Whistle? I'm talking about fragility of the fabric used. Beauty has to suffer....

It will be used for the redline-speakers. I want to recloth them with a lighter grey or white fabric. It does'nt have to be as thin as the newest fabrics of b&o, but at least it has to look decent and should not influence the sound.

By the way, It's great to see all the comments here. A great forum with great people, much better than my local dealer. :p

Well, Leslie, I have to admit that this looks very good indeed. I should consider this for my redlines RL 60

Well, don't know about the red one. It doesn't look bad at all but i think i prefer the grey fabric.

But of course it could also be the fact that I can only see it on a picture right now.

Hey there,

I ordered 5 different samples of fabrics from akustikstoff.

What do you think?

gun metal grey with a metallic effect looks brilliant, doesn ‚t it?
