Hi,

After re-installation of my BV10 the Mac mini does not react anymore to the Beo4

vmem used to be the button to start the mac and with [exit] i could swith from frontrow to desktop and vice versa. Now this doesn't seem to work and i didn't check directly after installation.

on my BV10 menu:

Connections:

av4 = vmem

ir connection =puc4

Set top box (in ir connection menu for av4) apple remote on option 1

The ir-eye is next to the small light at the front of the mac mini

Can i Fix myself, or do i need to call B&O? What to do with stand by options for AV4?

Thanks

Hello Ferdinand, Sue & I hope you & your family are well Smile

The associations in the configuration seem OK.

Why did the BV10 need to be re-installed ... perhaps that is part of the problem ?

Did you always have it in AV4 and PUC4 ?

I am not sure about the set top box setting, I use "Other" for my Apple Remote - but that is on a BV8.

regards Ed

Thanks for your reply!

We have moved to a new appartment. B&O did the move and re-installment of the BV10 and BS9000.

I have actually no clue on how the mac mini was connected before, B&O did that for me. I guess i'll have to give them a call tomorrow.

I have learned that some AV ports are not the same as others ... check it on another port ?

When your dealer did the job, he will also will have to solve the problem.

As I recall, the puc for Apple Remote was updated to match the updated version of the ATV-box. Maybe he installed a/the new puc - and maybe this causes the trouble.

Just a hint Erm..

Greetings Millemissen

There is a tv - and there is a BV

My experience with the minijack connectors fot the PUC on a Beovision 8 40" is that they will get a little loose in no time. My fix for this was to have the cords strapped up very tight to make sure there was a connection.

Of Course this is not an optimal fix and I don't even know if the BV10 has the same problem with these connectors, but just af thought to consider.

I got my BS3(US) updated a few months ago. We tried the new apple remote PUC but it broke functionality with my old Mac mini (it has a optical drive, and DVI out instead of HDMI). The play/pause didn't work, so we reverted to the old PUC.

Hi ... I have had an intermittent problem with the PUC to the FOXTEL device since upgrading to the BV8-40.

It seems slow to recognise a Beo4 command, and often a command will appear to get lost (e.g. "4" "0" "1" will appear as "01").

Did you have problems like that ?

And what do you mean by "strapped up tight" - was that at the STB end or the BV8-40 end ?

And how did you do the strapping ?

Hi Elephant, i have a vague memory that there was an occasional issue with Puc 1 on the 8-40, you may be better off using any other socket for Puc. Puc 1 is also used for software updates and it can sometimes be a little more flakey than the other puc sockets. I have seen the delay you mentioned when entering digits on your foxtel a lot on Sky boxes in the UK - this is always solvable by moving the IR blaster a little, sometimes just one millimeter left or right can make all the difference. Try it, it may help you.

The sky box in the uk is identical to the fox tell box here. Right down to the remote.

I have had situations where it felt a little slow, but not where it would miss a command. It was more like working / not working.

The Strapping was in the BV8 end. I lead the cable directly from the PUC connector to the wire strap in the center on the back of the TV where i would make sure it was tight strapped in. Hope this makes sense.

Not the optimal solution in the long run but it kinda did the job in the 1½ year i had the TV.

Thanks everyone for the various pieces of advice -- I now understand what was meant by "strapping" but I have not done it (yet).

The foxtel is assigned to PUC2 - PUC1 has the ATV2 attached and we have had not problems with it.

I checked that the foxtel end was securely seated (still stuck down with scelloape).

Then I checked the BV8 end - the plug may have been a little loose - so I pressed it home and made sure none of the cables were snagging.

Results seem better -- but time will tell.

One thing did occur to me -- perhaps my "misses" a command is the same as "felt a little slow" where there are two commands in quick succession and one "gets lost" because the other is still being processed.

Anyway we will see what turns up in usage this weekend.

Thanks again.
