How are you connecting the 'phone to the unit?

It's a common misunderstanding that the 5 pin Din connection at the rear of the unit is an auxiliary input.

It is in a way,but it was intended as an in/out port for the connection of a external device such as a graphic equaliser, and when not used for that, there is(or should be) a link plug fitted into the socket.

If there is no link plug or external device to complete the loop, you get the problem that you have.

'Phones,Bluetooth receivers etc  can be connected to the TP2 port.

Hi nick, it is a direct Din cable operated via the TP2

"direct Din connection to TP2"?

Is the greeny/grey dummy plug in place in the round multipin Din socket at the rear of the unit?

That's the problem,as I mentioned earlier. You need to put the link back in to restore normal function of radio, phono and tape 1,and connect your phone to Tp2("play") via RCA connector's.
