Essence 2nd gen - new sw 1.20?

I just noticed that there is a new sw for the Essence (2) called 1.20xxxx.

My Essence runs on 1.19xxxxx - it is set to manually update.

What is in it - anyone?

Don't know either.

I use Beotool regularly to discover that there is or are updates for one or more devices. Not every update is announced.

At least I have only have green dots now at the products status.

Both my Essence v2 and BS2 v1 updated to 1.20.xxx early this morning (Apr-1).  I cannot find any release notes nor any new functionality. 

I also noticed that B&O has dropped the "support" area from their website (where you could sometimes find this information).  With respect some recent posts on this forum, I guess it's better to take the support area down, than to leave it up and give people false hope. Whistle

My M5 was also updated and am manually updating my Essence now.

Well, I woke up today with my integrated Essence and M3 playing from an alarm timer. They played perfectly in sync for the first time!

Hopefully we can get hold of release notes, I'll ask support.

Are you able to elaborate on how you set this up?

I'd love for my M5 in the master bath to start up in sync with the Essence in my bedroom in the mornings.

Hi,

I have two A6s. One of them updated yesterday to 1.20 software. The other will not update to new software for some reason. It still has 1.19 and says that software is up to date. If I use BeoTool it says there is new software for the A6. I have tried to reset to factory but it did not help. After factory reset I can not login to Deezer or tunein either. Does someone know What is wrong with my A6?

I noticed that there is an option under product setup called problem solving, where you restart and back to factory default.

I don't know whether that was there before (I asked that for that option as my M5 sometimes doesn't respond to the Essence remote and restarting the M5 seems the only working option, instead of taking the powercord off)

@Martin : I had the same behavior, it seems that Beosetup can see every update available but that the products can only see the updates when they are really available for them (almost all companies use delay updates to ensure that if there is a problem, not all customers are touched : for example update 1% of users day one, 10% day 2, 30% day 3... )

Correct. My M5 was first updated, then my A6 and finally the BS 1 this evening, despite BeoTool claiming an update was available much sooner.

As B&O dont really write what’s updated, my guess is that its now support for the BeoRemote 1 now that it is no longer BETA.

Core and M3 have been updated too, no obvious changes or improvement I could find and perilous products’ issues are still present.

I don’t know whether it is new or I haven’t noticed before, but I can now reboot the M5 from a distance after it has lost bluetooth connection with the Essence-Remote. After rebooting the M5 the bt-connection works again.
